Follow the easy Step-by-step guide below and see our Face Painting Tips at the bottom of the page. Click on each image to enlarge and print the page if required. Alternatively go to...
Step 1 | | Apply the following shape with a Snazaroo medium multi purpose brush loaded with Black Snazaroo paint. Use lots of paint and keep it wet. You will need to work quickly to prevent it drying. |
Step 2 | Using a sponge loaded with Snazaroo Electric Green, fill in the face dragging the wet black edge into the Green. This will soften the Black line. Then using Snazaroo Electric Gold on a damp sponge, carefully blend into the Green around the nose and cheek areas only.
Step 3 | | With a Snazaroo multi-purpose brush, build up Snazaroo White right to the top of the brush and draw in the horns. Outline with Snazaroo Black on a Snazaroo fine round brush. Paint in crescent shaped teeth with the White. Again outline with Black using a Snazaroo fine round brush. |
Step 4 | Using a medium multi-purpose brush loaded with Snazaroo Black, paint half way up the eye lids as shown. Using a Snazaroo fine round brush, load with the Black and create the nose as shown. Apply Snazaroo Regal Red Glitter Gel using the blunt wooden end of the brush to add some highlights as shown.
Step 5 | | Add scales and bring the nose to a point using Black paint on a Snazaroo medium multi-purpose brush. Use Snazaroo Liquid Sparkle Pale Green and apply to scales in blobs to create a highlighted metallic 3D effect. | Fill lips with Snazaroo Black paint or use Black lipstick to finish this scary design.
Painting Tips Before loading your Face Painting sponge with Snazaroo paint, ensure that the sponge is damp but not wet. Build the Snazaroo colour into the sponge to create a rich creamy texture. Never over wet the sponge or you will find you get a streaky uneven finish. When using a thin fine line brush for detail, always build the colour into the brush and upto the tip. This is especially true when applying Black lines and detail to your design. Cut a round face sponge into quarters to create smaller patterns such as spots and triangles. If you are going to try and replicate this design for a number of children and want them all to be as similar as possible, enlist some help and asign each volunteer one face painting stage. Have the children move down the "production line" in turn and voila! - cloned faces for your party or production. This is a great idea for school events, carnivals and large parties.
