Death by chocolate cake and party are two words that can often be found together! Adults and children alike love chocolate and what party would be complete without a scrummy chocolate cake.
The ingredients that you will need to make the perfect death by chocolate cake for your party are 1/4 cup of cocoa, 1 and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and vanilla ice cream (to taste), 5 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. The best cakes are those that are made from chocolate loving hands, rather than a strict scale weighted regime.
After you have gathered the pertinent ingredients, set your oven to 200 C and allow it to preheat to this particular degree. While the oven is preheating, take the cocoa and powered sugar and add them together. In another large bowl, put the yolks of the eggs and vanilla together; beat with an electric beater if accessible, until the eggs and vanilla have a thick consistency.
In another bowl, you will utilize the egg whites, and beat them until they appear foamy, add salt while beating the whites of the eggs to this foam like substance. Add the cocoa and sugar into the bowl that has the egg whites, and then add the yolks in as well.
Butter a baking dish usually a 10 X 15inch cookie sheet, and line it with wax paper. The wax paper will eliminate your cake sticking to the bottom of the pan. Pour the batter on top of the wax paper making sure the batter is spread evenly on the pan. Bake your cake for 18 to 20 minutes, you may want to insert a toothpick into the centre of the cake, and when the toothpick comes clean, you can assure the cake is almost ready.
After you retrieve the cake from the oven, sprinkle a towel with powdered sugar over the top surface. Remove the wax paper and allow the cake to sit to cool. But, you're not done yet! Remember your ice cream?
Once the cake has cooled down, get your ice cream out and allow it to soften, spread the ice cream across the top of the cake, you may choose to add a little more cocoa perhaps a 1/4 of a teaspoon if you are a true chocolate fanatic. Add a little more powder sugar to the top of the cake, place the cake in the freezer and bring it out when it’s time to serve death by chocolate to your party guests !!!
