If you wish this cold rainy weather would stop and be replaced with a heat wave, you probably share your fantasy with most of the UK. While the cold and dreary weather will be the norm for the next few months, you can still brighten up your homes and friends by serving tropical margaritas at all your upcoming social and party occasions.

Here is a simple recipe for a party drink that will have you serving up margaritas to your friends in no time, and instantly watch warm cheer spread throughout your party. You will need:

  1. Tequila (Of course you can choose any, but for a good solid drink I would suggest, Jose Cuervo Gold)
  2. Lime juice (Try to avoid sweetened bottled lime juice, as it distracts too much from the overall taste)
  3. Orange liqueur/triple sec
  4. Coarse Kosher salt
  5. Lime slices for garnish
  6. Cocktail glasses

Note:  The following recipe is broken up into ratios, so you can change your volumes according to your serving or pitcher size!

  1. Place a decent amount of ice into a shaker.
  2. Add two parts of tequila, one part triple sec, and one part lime juice.
  3. Shake heavily as the shaking of the melting ice adds to the sharpness, strength, and delicate balance of sweet and sour aspect of the drink.
  4. Moisten the rim of the cocktail glass with lime juice, or with the lime garnish and dip into the salt so you have a salted rim.
  5. Fill your glasses with the margarita mixture, add lime and enjoy!

Voila! A perfect Margarita fit for any party occasion, summer or winter no matter what the British weather does.
