Before you head out to buy your kid's party supplies, you are going to need to decide on what type of food you want to serve at your party. This is because a large portion of your kid's party supplies are actually going to be grocery items surprisingly enough.

If you want a party that is both healthy and fun, you should probably serve a mixture of sweets and kid friendly treats. For example, you know your child is going to have a birthday cake, so instead of filling party bags with sweets, why not simply add great value pocket money toys – these are definitely sugar free. You also might decide to serve traditional party favourites for your buffet such as crisps and biscuits, but don't forget to add alongside a grape and apple slice tray, and maybe a few baby tomatoes and cucumber slices to boot.

There are a million and one ways that you can shape your kid's party supplies list to make sure that you keep the sugar intake under control. In the long run this will be as beneficial to you as to the children, because the less sugar you provide them the less time you are going to have to spend refereeing them throughout the party!

So save yourself some trouble and give your children and their friend's treats in moderation, because at the end of the day every parent will be happy not to have to deal with an overactive child, including you!
