Planning a silver anniversary party

If your parents are reaching their silver anniversary this year, they definitely deserve a party as in today's society not many people stay married for 25 years. For all practical purposes, you are celebrating the love of two people who have been together for a quarter of a century. (Or at least put up with each other for that long)!

The silver anniversary is traditionally celebrated with a party that is themed with silver colour tones and sometimes accented with blue or green. Along these lines, the typical flower that you want to buy for a silver anniversary centrepiece is an iris, which is supposed to symbolise the faith and eternal bond between the couple.

Those hosting a silver anniversary party will usually provide silver anniversary presents to the guests as favors or party bags thanking them for their attendance. You might consider small silver picture frames or silver candle holders as a potential party favor for your guests, as well as a few silver party poppers to add a little fun to their party bags.

Of course, you will also need to purchase a silver anniversary gift for your parents, and this traditionally should also be silver. A nice silver mirror or a more delicate picture frame for the couple, both make for wonderful gift ideas.

There are many party games you may choose to play at a silver anniversary party, such as balloon catchers or gift bingo. Typically, the level of game play that takes place at a sliver anniversary party will be more dependent on your anniversary recipients and how old they feel rather than the actual years printed on their passports. However, the introduction of alcohol can dramatically lower the average mental age of your guests making almost any party game up for grabs!
