"Remember, remember, the fifth of November..!" Here we are again, the night which most household pets loathe, and children adore. Is it important to remind children of the importance of the 5th November?
Should we make sure that they really understand the significance of the day? Should we all as parents have a responsibility to our children, to sit down with them and to tell them that the 5th November is remembered as the day Woolworths opened its first British store, in Liverpool?
Of course, you may have been thinking of the other significance of November 5th, the fact that on this day Britain's first automatic traffic lights were installed, in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. But if you really don't feel it's important to remember these historic events, then why not commemorate the fact that the King of England escaped being blown up, by blowing things up? Whatever you celebrate today, and however you spend your Guy Fawkes Night, have a safe time!
