Today I'm going to give you three good reasons for being happy. Apart from the fact that it's a Friday, and the weekend is here after just a three day working week!
is just 12 days until the first day of summer. Officially summer begins on Wednesday, 20 June, and that's less than two weeks away now, which has to be cause for at least some happiness. Unfortunately looking out of the window at the incessantly pouring rain it doesn't feel as those summer is just a week and a half away, but let's be optimistic that on June 20 the rain finally stops, the sun comes out and we can actually plan to have a barbecue.
It is exactly 13 years today that ex-cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken was jailed for 18 months after finally admitting that he lied during a libel case. In the days before expenses scandals this was seen as a triumph in that members of Parliament could no longer hide behind their positions and get away with it.
Today is officially Upsy Daisy Day. No, seriously, it actually is - http://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/upsy-daisy-day. The idea of Upsy Daisy day is to try to face the day with a positive mind, and aimed to get up gloriously, gratefully and gleefully. I did try this morning, but missed all of the 'g' words and ended up getting up slowly, shakily and stiffly. Oh well, I'm only 12 letters away from the target.
It's interesting isn't it that the first thing that comes into most parents' minds when they hear Upsy Daisy is the television programme In The Night Garden, which actually focuses on going to bed, rather than getting up.
Much more my sort of thing. In fact if your child loves Upsy Daisy and In The Night Garden we have quite a wide range of really beautiful In The Night Garden party products and decorations, including a beautiful Iggle Piggle cake, In The Night Garden birthday banners, party invitations, plates, table covers and much, much more. Have a look at our In The Night Garden party decorations, as it's a lot easier than either springing out of bed with a smile on your face, or believing that we're only 12 days away from summer.
